EXHORT
You may call me Daniel, my more biblical middle name, but my first name is actually
Leonard. My last name is Robertson.

What is this EXHORT
webpage all about?
It all started with me
minding my own business
and reading my Bible.
So I decided to actually do
what the Bible says,
so I won't be a hypocrite.
The Bible says, "Beware, brothers, lest perhaps there might be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God; but exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called “today”, lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin." (See World English Bible, ebible.org, the Letter to the Hebrews, chapter 3, verses 12
and 13.)
On December 9th, 2011, I read these Bible verses and remembered reading this before, and how much it impacted my life, while I was on Spring Break from Mandarin language studies at a guesthouse off of Sānyà beach back in 1996—which is as far south as you can go in the Peoples Republic of China, at the southern tip of Hǎinán Island. A plane got shot down near there once—my father was a Navy pilot, so I read the book by one of the survivors—but that's another story.
These verses exhort brothers and sisters in God's heavenly family to rely on Jesus (or "Yeshua"), who is God become man.
In Hebrews 2:18 the Bible says about Jesus, "For since he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted." Then chapter 3 points out the good example of Moses (or "Moshe") who was a faithful steward of God's words. Chapter 3 then points out the bad example of many of the children of Israel wondering in the wilderness for 40 years because they hardened their hearts from listening to God's ways.
These folks finally upset God so much that God swore he would let them wander around the wilderness for a generation until all the unfaithful dropped dead. He swore he would never let them enter his rest in the promised land. Let's not repeat the same mistake.
But among the men, Joshua and Caleb were faithful, and made it all the way from Egypt to that land people call different things today, but should be called by the name of Israel, the new name God gave Abraham's grandson Jacob. Will you be faithful, or be faithful again, so you can reach the destination God has for you, intact? I hope so!
